Option 1: Crosscutting to pre-set lengths
In the end-jointing machine, pre-cut plywood strips are placed in a buffer using vacuum bars. A strip is fed from the buffer along a hot melt glue head. Hot melt glue is applied, and the strip is pressed against the tail of the preceding strip. The end/tail-jointed strips are crosscut to pre-set lengths. The crosscut strips are fed through and coated with PVAc glue using a glue roller. (If there is no operator request, the buffer is filled.) The glued plywood strip is manually or automatically pushed onto the stack. A top layer is then placed on the glue. A stack is formed with a maximum height of 60 cm. (For varying lengths, spacers are placed between the different lengths.) Using the traverse carriage, the stack is moved in front of one of the six presses. The stack is pushed into the press, and using the conveyor belt, the stack is guided into the press. The stack can now be pressed. Using the switch, the press beam moves down, and using the rotary knob, the pressing force can be adjusted.

Option 2: Gluing to standard lengths without crosscutting

Using a separate computer program, the machine can also operate without end-jointing. When the length of the top layer and the length of the plywood match, the end-jointing can be disabled. The operation of the machine is then the same as in Option 1, but no glue is applied at the end, and the strips are not crosscut by the saw.
