STOOF International was founded in 1865 by Karl August Stoof in Busendorf, Brandenburg. At that time, Karl Stoof dedicated himself to the manufacture of carriages. His successors entered vehicle production.

Since 1989, Fred Stoof has managed the company in the fifth generation. Under his leadership, STOOF began to specialize in the development and production of security vehicles and armored cabins.
